English without child care: language workshops at home
You may not need child care, but you can still benefit from our expertise via home workshops, introducing educational activities into your child’s daily life.
Babylangues® has created a “learning through play” method which fits in with everyday activities, enabling every moment to become a new language learning experience.
Our instructors are native speakers trained in our specific teaching method and, whether you choose one-to-one or small group sessions, your child benefits from much more than a mere language lesson at home.
Babylangues® has deployed its expertise to design programmes suited to the age of your children:

Toddlers, 1 to 3 years: We are extremely attentive to your child’s well-being, awakening and development as he is gently introduced to a foreign language. We employ a multiplicity of early learning activities including nursery rhymes, finger plays, hand-eye coordination games, motor skills, body and spatial awareness games and traditional songs and dances from Britain and America, all chosen to introduce fun and play into English, and foster awareness of the sounds specific to the foreign language.
Children, 3 to 12 years: Our methods are adapted to your child’s age and level of understanding and expression in the second language, and linked to his everyday activities. We review and consolidate the concepts acquired at primary school, with specific activities corresponding to your child’s centres of interest, such as movement, artistic activities (drawing, painting, cutting and sticking, practical activities, drama tasks and museum visits, not forgetting cooking and ball games etc.), all of this in the target foreign language.
Teenagers, 12 to 18 years: Once his level and needs have been assessed, we will design a specific programme to suit your teenager’s individual requirements and provide the instructor corresponding to his needs. The programme will develop oral fluency, review and consolidate the concepts studied in collège or lycée, including grammar and syntax, help your child revise for examinations and so on. The accent will be placed on oral expression and conversation.

So much more than just a language lesson!
Babylangues® organizes home workshops combining all the advantages resulting from sustained exposure to a language
Babylangues®’s games and activities are introduced by the instructor as the session unfolds. This enables you to access the expertise of Babylangue®’s instructors in the comfort of your own home. These educational games, songs and activities have been designed by our team of teaching specialists to fit in with your child’s daily life.
The instructor organizes ritualized activities centred on the key moments of daily life: mealtimes, walks in the park, bath-time, cooking… These moments are linked to practical actions carried out by the instructor and stimulate verbal exchanges whose meaning can be immediately grasped by your child. Repetition brings pleasure, as your child hears linguistic structures that are familiar, fun to recognise and become increasingly natural to him.
Over time, this repetition enables your child to anticipate statements, thereby aiding memorization and language production.
As your child is exposed to an oral English environment, his ear will become accustomed to the music of the language. This passive approach enables the brain to begin to recognize and understand new structures, a necessary preliminary to the child’s own future language production.

How is a workshop organized?
The educational team at Babylangues® works with children from the age of 12 months and provides a welcoming and stimulating environment for early learners, tracking their personal development and gradually encouraging their capacity to hear, memorize and repeat the sounds of the English language. Developing a child’s ability for play and self-expression in English satisfies both his natural curiosity and his need to communicate and interact with the group and the instructor.
We adapt our teaching method to the child’s age and attention span, and our workshops are built around a rapid succession of very short activities. Alternating quiet periods (story-telling, visual, oral and tactile activities) with more dynamic episodes (dancing, songs and the manipulation of objects) helps to retain the child’s attention. The variety of material stimulates all five senses, with a view to fostering awareness of the sound patterns and effects of the English language, which in turn promotes a thorough and effective assimilation of linguistic structures. The instructor establishes a number of rituals which child and parent discover together. The innate ability of small children to reproduce sounds perfectly and use them to speak English is revealed. Naturally, all of these activities are carried out in English!
Groups are limited in number and arranged according to the age of the participants. Whilst each child benefits from individual attention, working in a group stimulates and enhances attention levels. Group size is critical and determines the quality of transmission. Workshops last for 45 minutes, with under-threes accompanied by a parent.

Dedicated and reliable, our instructors are also gifted educators
We recruit our own instructors and train them in the Babylangues® teaching method. This provides us with genuine educators who have the necessary skills to deal with the challenges of early learning.
The key to success lies in the relationship which exists between the instructor and the child. If the bond is successful the child will want to express himself in English. This is why we insist that our instructors meet the child before sessions commence, in order to ensure that they are compatible.
The selection of our instructors follows a rigorous procedure: we recruit people with educational skills, who are reliable and adaptable, demonstrate excellent communication skills with children and can offer recent and relevant experience.
Our initial training ensures that instructors are fully operational. Thereafter, regular training sessions provide support and back up as well as new material appropriate to the child’s level of progress.
